I. Kintex UltraScale Series Evaluation Kits
The Kintex UltraScale series represents AMD Xilinx's product line achieving the optimal balance between performance and cost. Manufactured using a 16nm process, it delivers high logic capacity, a substantial number of DSP slices, and high-performance transceivers.
This series achieves the best cost-performance/power balance within the FinFET node, providing the most cost-effective solution for high-end applications.
1. KCU116 Evaluation Kit: An ideal platform for assessing key features of the Kintex UltraScale+ series, particularly suited for evaluating 28Gbps transceiver performance.
Based on the Kintex UltraScale+ XCKU5P FPGA, this kit provides DDR4 component memory, four zSFP+ connectors, an eight-lane PCI Express interface, and Ethernet PHY functionality.
2. KCU105 Evaluation Kit: This earlier Kintex UltraScale evaluation board remains widely deployed across diverse applications. Presented in a box package, it remains active in the product line and supports numerous prototyping initiatives.

 

II. Virtex UltraScale Series Evaluation Kits
The Virtex series represents Xilinx's flagship high-performance FPGAs, primarily deployed in premium domains such as communications, radar, signal processing, and IC verification.
Virtex UltraScale+ devices are built on 14nm/16nm FinFET nodes with support for 3D IC technology, making them suitable for applications ranging from 400G networking to large-scale ASIC prototyping.

The kit incorporates dual 80-bit DDR4 component memory, RLDRAM3 memory, dual QSFP28 interfaces, PCIe Gen3 x16, and multiple FMC interfaces.
2. VCU128 Evaluation Kit: Utilises the new Xilinx VU37P HBM FPGA, employing stacked chip interconnects to place HBM die adjacent to the FPGA die on the package substrate.
The board carries 8GB of on-chip High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), providing multiple external memory interfaces and four 32Gbps QSFP28 interfaces.
Xilinx FPGAs supporting High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) offer a clear solution to computational bandwidth challenges, delivering significant advantages over traditional DDR4 memory.
3. VCU129 Evaluation Kit: Based on the Virtex UltraScale+ VU29P FPGA, specifically designed for developing 56G PAM4 applications.
The FPGA integrates 48 GTM 56Gbps PAM4 transceivers and 32 GTY 28Gbps transceivers, with the evaluation kit providing multiple 56G and 28G interfaces.
4. VC707 Evaluation Kit: Utilising the Virtex-7 XC7VX485T FPGA, this represents a fully functional, highly flexible high-speed serial foundation platform.
Includes essential components comprising hardware, design tools, IP, and pre-validated reference designs, suitable for system designs requiring high-performance serial connectivity and advanced memory interfaces.
